The NFPA 70E - Electrical Safety Program is an 8-hour course based on 29 CFR 1926 – Subpart K Electrical Standards for Construction and NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace. This class focuses on safety for electrical workers with an emphasis on making the workplace electrically safe by means of shutdowns and Lock Out Tag Out as opposed to live electrical work. Arc Flash protection boundaries will be covered as well as appropriate PPE when exposed to the hazards of arcs, blasts, and electric shock.
Our presenter is Ken Filips is currently the Safety/Training Manager for Bergelectric, Northwest Region. Additionally, Ken is certified to administer the OSHA 10-hour and OSHA 30-hour courses and holds the General Supervising Electrician license for Bergelectric Corporation.
Ken has arranged for Paul Fregoso, Jr., Northwest Regional Manager of Salisbury by Honeywell, to provide information on the proper use of PPE.
Please mark this on your calendar. This information usually doesn't come our way very often, and it should be at fore front of our daily contact with electrical installations. It is YOUR life, don't get burnt! And remember, the only electrician that knows-it-all, is a dead electrician....
